GIRLS DAY OUT!!!!!

My mom and sister Tammie are up visiting from California.  Tammie and her Husband Jesse have started a little vacation tradition to visit and go through all the temples.  Since they could bust out a visit with me they decided to go to the idaho Temples this trip.  On saturday they went through the Boise Temple while Craig and I took our 2 kids and their little cousin Serenity to the Discovery Center.  Today they're on their way to Twin Falls.  Yesterday all temples are closed so we decided to go shopping in Nampa.  We found some great buys at Kohls with there 80-90% sale!!!! and about cleaned out the dress barn...my mother and sister aren't used to seeing so many modest dresses being from california and  just had a hay day for themselves :)  I picked up 3 myself :)  We finished off the evening going to the Two Rivers Day Spa in Eagle getting a back massage, Facial and Pedicure.  It was so so so nice and relaxing and our skin is so soft!!!!!  We have had a little family tradition ourselves since I have  moved away form Cali to always get pedicures together when I come to town...and the tradition continues when they visit me as well.

PROGRESS

So last summer I made a little to do list we wanted to accomplish by the end of the summer.  A couple of them were getting Soren potty trained and teaching Kaydence how to ride her bike without training wheels.  We did teach Soren how to ride a regular bike WITH training wheels but that was pretty much all we accomplished :)  I think we are going to have better luck this summer with last years goals!!!!  Craig has been working with Kaydence when he gets home from work on riding her bike and she is getting pretty good.  If we give her a push start she can get going and go all the way down the street.  We have successfully been able to turn around a few times, but it still freaks her out to where she stops herself.  We promised her she could ride a motorcycle if she learns how to ride a bike....her bigger cousins have a little motorcycle that they have outgrown and said she could have and this idea has really motivated her to learn.

Craig found a JOB

Today is the last day of Craig's first week of work!!!!! About 2 weeks ago a friend from our ward was talking with some colleagues/friends who had mentioned they were swamped at their Law firm.  She mentioned Craig to them and got her business card and gave it to us.  We didn't really know any details but Craig emailed her and then went and had lunch with her and discussed some options.  Next thing we knew Craig had a job!!!!  We never really considered for a second that Craig would be working for a firm.  We were planning on him getting a job at a public defenders office or prosecuting office.  His only interest in law so far has been criminal and everything up until this point has been to gain experience and the necessary qualifications for that job.  But...with the economy and job market the way it is people are losing their jobs in big firms and the interest for public jobs for their benefits and security have increased dramatically, leaving us lowly newbies competing with experienced lawyers.
This job seems to be perfect for Craig.  He gets to work in Criminal law and see cases from beginning to end and gain experience in a low key small firm environment.  He seems to really like the two partners he is working with and can tell they are good, honest working, smart guys.  The one partner whom Craig will mostly be working with, is a senator here in idaho and has been really stressed doing both jobs..which is the reason they hired Craig...to take over all of his criminal law clients so he can focus more of his time with legislation and other areas of the practice.
We don't hear back if Craig passed the Bar till April 9th and don't get sworn in to be an official licensed lawyer till the following month so he will be working with a limited license till then which gives him a few months to gain some experience under a mentor.  We are pretty excited about the aspects of what the future can bring for Craig here.  A lot better than if he were to work for the state for 10 years.
Hopefully Craig passes the bar this first time around and all of this doesn't seem to just vanish in a puff of smoke.

Im alive!!

It's been a while since my Last post because I haven't done much and then we lost internet for a while, but it's back at the moment so I decided to quickly post something before it goes down again. (we are borrowing from my inlaws who live next door and they switched providers who seem to be blocking the ability to "borrow" their internet) seriously how rude right!!!!!  :)

(when most people say its been a while its been like 3-6 months...but I say it when its been 3 weeks :) )

Craig has been helping his brother in law get his Backyard ready to lay down SOD.  Thanks to Craig's parents being farmers we were able to get some compost to lay down and rented a RotoTiller to mix it into the ground.  They put in sprinkers and are ready to lay the SOD tomorrow.  I think the guys did a great job...looks nice!!!

This is Soren at Aunt Lindsey's 25th Birthday, we celebrated at Red Robin.  It's really been difficult to get a decent picture of Soren because when we take the camera out he gives us "HIS smile face" and it aint pretty!!!!  We have been working with him but no luck.  I have to just sit there ready....and get him to laugh to produce a decent normal smile.  It's hard work and many trials but its worth it once we get a good one.  He is so CUTE!!!!

here is one of Soren and Kaydence before church.  Soren got new shoes and so he wanted them in the picture so we did the classic "sports" pose with the feet in the air :)  It's black and white because I was a tad close and my point and shoot's flash was to much and overexposed his face...but it happened to be the shot with his great smile and I had to salvage it.  :)
I never have a problem getting a good one of Kaydence.  She's my little poser.

here here

I read this on a friends blog and couldn't help but post.  This chick obviously grew up an only child and has no idea about reality...  you will have to click on it to enlarge enough to read it :)
